“Moog Island of Electronicus” Framed Kyle Platts Print
“Moog Island of Electronicus” Framed Kyle Platts Print
Description
From the vault comes a colorful tribute to an early chapter in Minimoog history. This promotional artwork by British illustrator Kyle Platts was created in connection with Moog’s Island of Electronicus presentation at the 2016 Winter NAMM Show.
The presentation paid homage to David Van Koevering’s original Island of Electronicus, a 1971 showroom experience in Tierra Verde, Florida. There, Van Koevering introduced audiences to the Minimoog through immersive musical demonstrations, inviting visitors to sit on floor pillows and explore the instruments after the performance. Bob Moog himself visited the venue.
Moog revisited that spirit of discovery at NAMM in 2016, with Platts’ colorful, Mother-32-inspired illustrations contributing to the installation. This print connects his playful visual style with the imaginative demonstrations that helped introduce the Minimoog to new audiences. Platts’ name appears at the upper right in the margin of the artwork.
The print was professionally framed and double matted by BlackBird Frame & Art in Asheville, North Carolina.
